pre-xmas updates from nashvegas

hi there...so it's freezing, beyond freezing here on nashville. today, it was 15*. before i knew this, i looked outside, it was sunny...so i wore a scarf, a hoodie and a tank. BIG mistake. anyway, christmas is coming up and i am very excited for my first tennessee christmas. still trying to figure out if i am going to fly home to visit my family in arizona on the 26th...doesn't look good at this point, but we'll see. eric and i have packages to open here from each other and our loving families to open on christmas, and we're going to cook a delicious dinner. i'm excited, but will be thinking of my family. i got all my shopping done today. yes today. i totally slacked on it this year, but that is partially because moving across the country took all my money. c'est la vie...you can always earn more money. :)

eric and i have been falling asleep VERY late, which ends up being "early," and waking up at like 11 or noon. we're going to try and break this habit. i don't think we've adjusted to the 2 hour time difference yet. we've been keeping busy - he's been practicing, auditioning, and i've been writing and looking for people to collaborate with. we've been to a couple of amazing shows (look up bekka bramlett - seriously), we've discovered new places to eat, and have shopped. we've even discovered our fav. california thing to do: wine taste! tennessee has a bunch of wineries. we went to arrington winery in arrington, tn a few days ago. it's owned by kix dunn, of brooks and dunn. it was, YUM! anyway, we're having fun here...which is super nice.

i miss my friends in cali and my fam. it's hard to meet new people...especially when you don't go out very much because it's....FREEZING! we met a guy named erin here in october and will probably watch usc win the rose bowl with his girlfriend and him. we've had another meeting with a guy - who shall remain nameless - who is super helpful and seriously is such a good friend. other than that, we've made a few friends - i am grateful to have eric, mostly. moving is tough, but it's been surprisingly wonderful, so far. :) ps - thank you family for the wonderful xmas cards...i love them.

anyway, that's my news for now...i'm watching football, and enjoying a lovely glass o' wine. good night, and happy holidays!
