Updates from the 'Ville.

I won't bore you with every day details...I'll just do a quickie recap!!!

Eric and I started with a personal trainer, and we train 2 days a week...the other 5 days, we do cardio, sit-ups, stairs, and stretching at the gym. It's been about 4 weeks, and I am anxiously awaiting results. We feel great though - albeit TIRED! We also started counting calories, and logging everything we eat...which totally takes the fun out of eating, by the way! Haha! We got iPhones, and there is this app called "Lose It!" that I recommend y'all get if you're interested in keeping a food diary. Pretty cool.

Speaking of iPhones...we. are. so. addicted! Love them!

We had 2 guests recently - Kyle, Eric's buddy from SLO (who liked it so much, he's moving out here with his wife and son)...

(We played Bocce Ball in our backyard...love our backyard!!!)

AAAnd Guillermo, our good friend and old guitar player! He loved it too, but the weather was...let's just say not as pretty as California weather! It was humid, we had a few *awesome* storms, and it was HOT!

(Night One, King's Cup!)

(Celebrity Softball Tourney, VIP Passes...!)

We saw tons of shows, and showed them all around Nashville! It was great to have them visit...but it's nice to have our house back to ourselves.

We're going to Knoxville on the 9th to see my old high school BFF Chelsey, then to Dallas on the 11-12 to visit Brad and Kelly from Eric's band, Five Times August. Brad is the lead singer (and the main act...the musicians are hired players) and Kelly is his wife and manager. They're very cool. After that, my Sister, Niece, Mom and Dad are visiting for about a week...then as they leave, Eric's folks fly in! We're going to be buuuuuusy! Not to mention our good friends Chad and Erin are trying to get up here from Louisianna. Then...Eric takes off with Five Times August for about a month and a half...which will totally suck, but a) I might be able to help out and tag along for a little, or b) we'll figure out a way for him to come home whenever he can! It'll be tough, but we'll make it! Hehe!

On today's note: I had a fantastic meeting this morning with a rep from ASCAP, a wonderful voice lesson with Jessica Ford, some great phone calls with potential co-writers for some new tunes (including Brooks and Dunn's drummer and band leader), and then a great work out! Now we're about to enjoy some mahi mahi, and veggies with a lil' glass of a Italian Pinot Grigio. Yum. Today was a good day. I hope that life continues in this positive direction.

My last thought is this...My mom is adorable. She sends forwards like nobody's business, so recently I asked her to stop...I hate those one's that say, "Send to 10 people, or you'll have bad luck for 10 years..." Ya know??? But she sent one today that was really cute...and a little cheesey - but what's life without a little cheese, right? Plus she wanted to send a little encouragement because I had an important meeting today. Anyway, the story goes a little something like this:

"Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs.... who arranged a competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...
The race began....

Honestly: No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
OR...
"Not a chance that they will succeed.
The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....
Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this
one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out....That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic....because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have. (There's life and death in the power of the tongue - Proverbs 18:21.)
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!
Therefore: ALWAYS be.... POSITIVE!

And above all:
Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think:
God and I can do this!"

Cute right??

Okay, I am outta here...it's fish, wine, veggie and cuddle time!
