happy.twenty.eleven.

well, it's official. i miss home. home being california. arizona. not nashville. let me begin by saying, i enjoy nashville (no, really, i do), and will live here for a while, i'm sure. but it is not home. i don't get the warm and fuzzy feeling thinking about it, like i do when i think about..."home." :)

OUR TRIP "HOME"

eric had been working for 23 days straight, and on christmas eve eve, the last day of work for us until the 3rd, he was in the office until midnight. a friend of ours, jennifer, and i went to get our hubby's dinner, and enjoyed an app, champagne and good conversation...then drove to work to pick up our men. eric came back with us at midnight, but poor andy (jen's hubs) had to stay behind, as the project was not done. craziness. the 3 of us went back to our place, i packed, they ate (i had given my meal to a programmer at work who needed dinner and was staying later...), and we watched "christmas vacation" while talking, sipping wine, eating delish la tur cheese, and laughing at this ridiculous thing eric has in his itunes called, "song starts." we decided not to sleep because we had to leave for the airport at 4:15 anyway... jen was awesome, and was going to keep banjo if she didn't get on the flight...but...yay she did! thank you jen for staying up late, err...all night...and being a rockstar. eric and i boarded and banjo did not make a peep the entire 2 flights and layover. she rocked it. my brother landed about the same time as we did, and my parents picked us up. arizona is gorgeous, and my family is the best.

christmas eve we went to a church service and to a lovely dinner at white chocolate grill. christmas morning was great! we must have been VERY good in 2010 because santa spoiled us. highlights: eric and i got surround sound, ryan got snow boarding stuff, mom got a black and white diamond cross necklace, and dad got new tour golf irons! we had a delish meal and relaxed for the day, and then another delish meal. (note to self: please work out again...ugh.)

then...my mom got sick. yikes. the boys golfed, while my mom and i were supposed to shop...but she got this terrible flu, poor thing! so i ended up hanging out, and then meeting the boys for lunch..followed by a quick shopping trip! they were such troopers.

the next day we went to california. we went to my sister's house and i got to see my wonderful niece and nephew, my sister and her hubs, my brother, parents and my grandma eloise. brian cooked a great dinner, we all exchanged gifts, and then eric and i drove to LA LA land to see our buddies chayna and brett. we miss them a tooooooooon! we had a blast with b&c, and bonnie and rosh even joined. we had wine, danced with the wii, and had a great time!

the next day we saw eric's family. it was a blast. we had breakfast with them, and then went to his grandmother's for dinner. besides the "shitastic incident" it was a wonderful time. :)

we also got a chance to see my amazing friend jen who is ENGAGED and is as gorgeous as ever...we met in temecula for some vino and dinner. it was great catching up with her...i miss her.

we spent as much time with family and friends as we could, and suddenly...the time ran out! so sad.

we drove back to arizona on NYE - and then spent the evening at this really cool new theater called iPic where you can order cocktails, and meals, and can recline in seats...it was a blast! my parents, eric and i saw "how do you know" which was cute, but not surprisingly was very predictable. then we went home and rung in the new year together...with our pugs! it was such a great time!

then sadly, our trip came to a close and we rushed home to tn the next day. our flight was delayed, which made it especially difficult to make our second flight...we literally sprinted and made it as the doors were closing. yes, it was literally like a movie. and...our bag even showed up in nashville - hallelujah!

after a good nights rest...we began packing...oh boy. that sucked. however...was totally worth it...we're out of our (literally) old place, and into a new, spacious, cute townhouse that we LOVE! (email me for address!)

work is going well, too! we both love our jobs. honestly, besides the whole needing more money to live in CA...i'm pretty sure the amazing jobs are what's keeping us in nashville. we feel very blessed. and the fact that we actually have GOOD friends now...totally blessed. :)

hope your holidays were fantastic too, and that your 2011 started with a BANG!

cheers to 2011 - may you have much success, good health, love, peace, friendship and joy! did i miss anything??? ;)
